I am making something for you. And I mean it this time. Seriously.

I can't hold it in anymore, so I'm letting the cat out of the bag...

I'm almost finished writing, photographing, designing, and self-publishing a lovely little printed collection of recipes! It will feature 16 recipes that are vegan-friendly and can be made free of gluten, rice, casein, eggs, soy, corn, tree nuts, peanuts, potato, tomato, citrus, shellfish, and cane sugar.  It will be printed in an unique, multi-purpose format, and will be available for sale through my Etsy site starting some time in October.  It will also be available from me in person, if you live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro.   I will reveal more information as we approach the release date!

I know I've been talking about a cookbook the last, oh, year or so. I know you've been paying attention because many of you keep asking me where than cookbook is. I appreciate your questioning - it is inspiring and keeps me driven. That cookbook I kept talking about earlier this year is sitting on my laptop, split between two or three enormous documents titled with absurd file names. A lot of it is done, a lot of it isn't. I want to write a good cookbook. I've never written a cookbook before, so working through it takes time.  And in the last year, I've had a whole lot of life happen. Let's face it, I'm busy. I work a full time job that has nothing to do with this blog. I'm recovering from Lyme and sometimes don't feel so great. I have other hobbies and passions and interests and a social life. I spent a lot of time in the garden the last 5 months. And sometimes, believe it or not, I just want to blow a weekend and watch The X-Files or Arrested Development on Netflix.

Basically, I just haven't had the chance to finish what I started! I'm okay with that and I hope you are too. Instead of taking on the monolith that is the book of my dreams, I'm distilling the best ideas from my massive assortment of recipes and delivering them to you in a more easy-to-digest format. It has been fun to write and I think it will be more fun for you than a book that just sits on your shelf.

Here's a few more photos to wet your palette and pique your interest...in due time you will find out the details of what these lovely things are!  Yes, as we were told as children, good things come to those who wait.

Scones! Soup! Pistou! Pie! Dip! Crackers! Oh my! And that's just one third of the collection, friends.  Hungry yet?

Conveniently, my posting these photos (of which I'm quite proud) coincides with the kick-off of Simply Gluten Free's gluten-free photo contest! So, I entered and I look forward to being included in her round-up on September 30 - and keeping my fingers crossed that through some miracle I will get recognition as 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place (dreams are fun, aren't they?).

Anyway, back to my recipe project. Everything is made with love and I'm really happy with all the recipes included in the collection. Many friends have gone into allowing this to happen, and have helped me test recipes, have eaten food I've thrown at them, and have suggested amazing ideas that have continued to inspire me. I'm proud of the work I'm doing on this project, and I'm super excited to share it with you. I may be a bit distant the next couple weeks as I'm finishing this up and finalizing the last bits, but in a few weeks, I'll have something wonderful to share with all of you.  I can't wait!

xoxo
